AT&T MMS Now Live?

Not everyone has gotten the new carrier update for the iPhone 3G S. We'll if you're tired of waiting for the AT&T to release the Carrier Update through iTunes I have a fool proof way!

You don't need to update to 3.1 either, so those of us who are awaiting the Jailbreak for 3.1.

Your iPhone on the 3.0 still can get MMS, YAY!

NOTE: This is only for iPhone 3G & 3G S users, if you have a 2G I believe it's time to go buy a new phone :-D

ANOTHER NOTE: Only for windows users, fuck the MAC.

Follow this simple step by step instructions to enable MMS.

Make sure iTunes is closed... I can't stress this enough, and it doesn't matter what iTunes you will be using.

First you must go into Command Prompt and type the follow:

cd C:\Program Files\iTunes\

If you are a 64 bit Windows user type this instead:

cd C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\

HIT ENTER.

Now type:

iTunes.exe /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

CLOSE your Command Prompt

Now you're going to need the Carrier Settings File, I will provide you with it.

AT&T 5.1 Carrier Settings

NOTICE: This file is an .IPCC not a .IPSW

Once you have the Carrier Settings you are now ready to update, or are you?

With the new iTunes 9, Apple has disabled the ability to update your carrier settings.

Don't worry I have a way around this BS.

REMEMBER: iTunes must be CLOSED.

Open your Command Prompt again.

Type: "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

^ Must be typed exactly how I have it. with the "s and all.

For 64 Bit:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

CLOSE your COMMAND PROMPT again...

NOW you're ready...

Connect your iPhone to your PC and open iTunes.

Shift click the Update Button and on the bottom right click the drop down box and select:

iPhone Carrier Configuration Files (.ipcc) <- If this is not showing up you fucked up and must start over.

LOCATE: the AT&T 5.1 Carrier Settings I provided you with earlier and click open.

A status box will appear saying Updating Carrier Settings, let it finish.

Once the box goes away, unplug your iPhone and restart your device.

Turn it back on, and go to your SMS. You will notice a lil Camera in a Circle to the left of the text box.

There you have it, you have just enabled your device to now send MMS. ENJOY!

EDIT!:

3.0 Carrier settings is set at AT&T 5.1.

3.1 Carrier settings is set at AT&T 5.5.

If you don't have your iPhone updated to 3.1, because you wanted to save your jailbreak you need to download 5.1 provided above.
